Bela 2021: 92 puntos
“The bread-and-butter wine here is the 2021 Bela, producted with Tempranillo from the village of Villalba del Duero, from sandy and clay rich soils on limestone mother rock that delivers powerful but not overripe wines with a short-ish elevage to achieve a fine-boned and fresh wine. It’s ripe without excess, with very integrated oak and a velvety palate witg silky tannins. With time in the glass, it develops a precise note of licorice intermixed with berry fruit and some spices and herbs.” -Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate January 2023.
Arano 2020: 92 puntos
“The 2020 Arano was cropped from a cooler and wetter year. The fermentation and élevage were the same, in stainless steel with selected yeasts and in new French oak barrels for 15 months, respectively. The oak feels much better integrated here than in 2019. It’s a ligther wine that they seem to have handled well, and it’s moving in the direction of the 2021s I tasted on this occasion. There is a progression in each vintage, when the wines show better than the previous one”. -Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Jan. 2023.
Arano 2019: 91 puntos
“2019 was a warm and dry year. Arano 2019 was produced with grapes from the village of Moradillo de Roa. This was a powerful year, warm and dry, that delivered concentrated wines. It has clout and a smoky, meaty nose that is quite mainstream, modern and spicy. The palate is medium to full-bodied and reveals abundant, slightly dusty tannins.” -Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Jan. 2023.
